Metcalfe’s is one of the first grocers Tosa Cares began a partnership. Tosa Cares has worked with several store managers and many Metcalfe employees over the last 12-13 years. These relationships have been supportive and positive.

Over the years Tosa Cares has been a recipient of programs like the Holiday Meal Bags, the Charity of the Month, and the Spartan Nash Feed the Need Campaign; all successful programs bringing in needed food and financial support. We have partnered with Metcalfe's for the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train event. For this event, Metcalfe’s has included being a food collection site at the store and use of grocery carts to collect food through the crowds at the holiday train. Tosa Cares has been the recipient of surplus items; Metcalfe’s has provided a table for our volunteers on site to say thank you to customers and spread the work about our pantry.

Tosa Cares relationship with Metcalfe’s has been special. We can come into the store to shop and talk in person about Tosa Cares support, and communicate by phone calls, as well as email. We know you and talk about how we can work together to “Feed the Need”. That means a great deal to fulfilling our Tosa Cares Mission, to serves our community by providing food and assistance to families in need.
